You don’t have to be rich to travel the world constantly. I and many others are proof of that. In fact it can be surprisingly easy and inexpensive.
As a former member of the Australian Air Force, you probably understand the importance of discipline and accomplishing a mission while minimizing your own casualties and collateral damage. It’s the same thing when fighting a deadly virus.
I’m two years younger than you and am celebrating Thanksgiving at home with only my son who has been in my bubble. Normally, I travel to a large (15 -20 people) Thanksgiving get together with friends and several
families from around the country. That’s cancelled this year. I’ll miss it. But I have no desire to get sick, wind up in a hospital, and maybe even die. And I don’t want anyone else in my group of family and friends to suffer that fate either.
Given the state of the virus in the US currently, getting our group together this year is just not worth the chance of spreading a potentially lethal disease. Vaccines are on the way that will reduce the risks substantially. Waiting until then is prudent and a minimal sacrifice.
My comment was harsh, I’ll admit. Unfortunately this Thanksgiving there will be thousands who will die prematurely and unnecessarily. Those aren’t just numbers. They are real people with real lives. Please take the politics out of public health and encourage rather than mock something as easy as limiting large gettogethers at Thanksgiving this year.
Much of the humor you post is funny even if I don’t agree with it. Some of it is funny because I don’t agree with it. Even if it is not intended, jokes about COVID-19 prevention might encourage reckless behavior and they can seem callous especially to family and friends of the seriously ill or departed.
I hope you and your family remain as safe and healthy as possible. There are simple and relatively pain-free measures we can employ to keep our coronavirus casualties to a minimum which will permit much of the economy to remain open. Those measures should be encouraged.

You really think its funny to make a mockery of public health measures intended to minimize the number of people who will die as a result of contracting COVID-19 this Thanksgiving?
If so, please use these jokes to cheer up the folks who will be in the ICUs in a few weeks.

Hey,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment, and we’re glad you took the time to read all of the humourous images and the cartoons and enjoyed the laugh from them all.
It must be nice to be rich enough to be able to constantly travel the World as you do. I would have liked to do something like that, but I never had that sort of money. I’m 70 years old now, and only on a very small Superannuation from my 25 years of service to my Country in the Royal Australian Air Force, and a part pension, so any travel at all is out of the question, let alone travel overseas. Still, I can always read about your World travels though, eh! Almost as good as visiting another site to look at the humour.
That problem you mention with the CCP Wuhan Coronavirus over Thanksgiving will be a thing of the past soon, when Ilhan Omar and her fellow Democrats just cancel Thanksgiving as a relic of a past which needs to be cancelled and forgotten, and there’s a cartoon about that at the bottom of the Post there as well.
And those tens of thousands of people everywhere ignoring all the warnings to visit family over Thanksgiving are all as concerned as you are I see as well.
Again, thanks for dropping by for the humour.
Tony.
