T.O.U. + Behavior

TOU (Terms Of Use) & Acceptable Content for Both Writers and Commenters

Hi, Welcome to PA Pundits.

  • You may write about almost any subject except those of Pornographic nature.

Please watch your language. I have a dear, sweet, 87 year old Mom-in-Law who doesn’t appreciate foul language; and other gentle souls who deserve better. We also have some very young readers who do not need to be exposed to filthy language. So tone it down. Besides you can substitute a “clean” word or two that will have more of an impact.

Don’t steal someone else’s writing. It’s wrong and illegal. You can be sued.

Many writers will allow you to republish up a certain limit. Some allow up to 75 words, others 350 characters, others 2 sentences. Some state none at all. (Mostly the big news agencies)

Many Text Writer and Word Processing Programs have word and character counters.

The FAIR USE law is ambiguous on this point. It’s generally safe to copy the headline and maybe one sentence.

This is the best How to Stay out of Trouble & Decide what is Fair Use Of Copyrighted Materials

THE SAFEST IS TO DO YOUR OWN HEADLINE AND DESCRIPTION AND LINK TO THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE, ESPECIALLY IF IT’S A MAJOR NEWS CO.

If you see something you would like to republish, write and ask permission.

  • Consider others feelings.

You can do more to win others to your point of view by being civil to them instead of bashing them.

My Mom used to say “You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar”

For a writer the exemplifies the above, you may want to read some of Newt Gingrich‘s posts. I don’t always agree with his views but I do like his style of debate.
