Cyclone Marcia – Rockhampton Queensland Australia (With Updates)

On Friday 20th February 2015, Tropical Cyclone Marcia approached the Queensland Coastline. It made landfall and then passed directly overhead of the city of Rockhampton in Queensland, and that is where I live, so we were right in it.

In the U.S. these systems are called Hurricanes, and other than the difference in names, the only other difference is that here In the Southern Hemisphere, our Cyclones rotate in the opposite direction, that being clockwise here in Australia. Other than those differences, they are exactly the same sort of major weather event.

I’m going to use the facility of our blog site here to detail as much as I possibly can about the event.
