Here in Australia the Labor Party led Government of the State of Victoria has used taxpayers’ money to produce a rigged and meaningless poll.
I just don’t know whether it’s done this through sheer ignorance or ideological whatever-it-takes fervor:
A survey of Victorians has found 91 per cent believe humans contribute to climate change and one third of respondents rank it as one of the top three most important issues facing the state.
The independent research commissioned by Sustainability Victoria involved interviews with more than 3,300 people.
But I – and most sceptics – also believe humans contribute to any warming we’re seeing.
The real issues are how much do humans contribute? Is that warming dangerous? Is the gain worth the pain of trying to “stop” it? Do the schemes we’re paying billions on actually work, or are they simply to make a gesture?
On this the survey is silent.
As silent as the desalination plant that Victorian Labor built with taxpayers billions in the belief that warming would dry up the rains.
