Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott Cuts Emissions. Stops Ministers Flying To Climate Change Conference In Warsaw

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will hold it’s 19th Conference of the Parties (COP19) in Warsaw from the 11th until the 22nd of November…..TonyfromOz.

Why on earth would a minister waste his time when there’s a carbon tax back home to repeal?

Australia will not be represented by a senior elected member of the Abbott government at next week’s major round of international climate change negotiations starting Monday in Warsaw.

What a change from the circus Kevin Rudd led to the disastrous Copenhagen summit in 2009:

A provisional list published in The Australian today contains the names and details of 114 Australian representatives, compared with just 71 for the United Kingdom.

Attempts by The Age and ABC to whip up outrage over this no-show are somewhat undermined by this detail:

Under the Gillard government, then climate change minister Greg Combet did not attend last year’s Doha UN climate summit. But the government was represented by then parliamentary secretary for climate change Mark Dreyfus.

But I hope the government’s refusal to attend yet another futile round of talks to get some fanciful agreement to futile steps to “stop” global warming really is meant to send a signal.

Warmists: your years of fear-mongering and fancy summits are over. The more Labor storms about this, the more it will be damn itself to irrelevance.
