It was a game that could have easily gone the other way. I started to watch a few minutes of it and ended up watching the whole game.

One thing that impressed me was REAL Grass! It was raining so the field was muddy and torn up. It had ruts and loose sod just like in the good old days. Plus I imagine it’s less painful to fall on real grass than it is artificial turf over a concrete base.

Of course the holes and missing sod presents a real life situation; just like running on an uneven path through the woods is more challenging and strengthens your ankles better than running on a smooth indoor track.

But I came back in time to see a few seconds of a halftime band.

Wow! What a thrill. Maybe they’re going back to showing at least part of the Half-Time Show. What a ‘Novel” concept. I remember when we got to see the whole halftime show just like someone who went to the game in person.

Any talking was done in the background with just a remark or two at a time. Not the Diarrhea mouths we have now. Not that they are vulgar in speech but once their mouths start running there is no stopping them. And then you gotta watch these self-important Sportscasters mugs in a suit no less. I’d rather watch the majorettes on the field. I may be somewhere in my 80s but I still enjoy nice eye candy.   —-

So why watch these high paid blabbermouths drone on and on. Blath!

It was a good game. Maybe not the most spectacular but really worthwhile watching.

Now comes the Rose Bowl. May the best team win.
