Arlen Specter Protest

About 25 protesters walked in front of Senator Arlen Specter’s office on Thursda, August 20. Though it was humid and rain sprinkled throughout the afternoon, members and supporters of NEPA Tea Party LLC continued to hold their signs and wave to passing cars that beeped their horns.

Protesters were young and old, healthy and disabled. Some of the signs were clever; one had scribbles all over it and it said “My 4-year-old’s health care plan makes more sense than Obama’s.”

Several people carried the yellow Gadsden flag that reads “Don’t Tread on Me.” Chants of “Hey hey, ho ho, Benedict Arlen has got to go!” were shouted as the rally-goers marched on.

One man repeatedly called Specter’s offices asking him to address the group’s concerns, but he never appeared nor took the calls.

NEPA Tea Party has buses going to Washington DC this weekend for the 912 Commission tea party at the capital this Saturday. Visit their site for more info.
