Excerpts from The Patriot Post.
Why a Republican victory is crucial in November: John Paul Stevens, age 87; Ruth Bader Ginsburg, age 74; Anthony Kennedy, age 71; Antonin Scalia, age 71; Stephen Breyer, age 69, David Souter, age 68
THE FOUNDATION: JUDICIARY
“[J]udges, therefore, should be always men of learning and experience in the laws, of exemplary morals, great patience, calmness, coolness, and attention. Their minds should not be distracted with jarring interests; they should not be dependent upon any man, or body of men.” –John Adams
INSIGHT
“The government solution to any problem is usually at least as bad as the problem.” -Milton Friedman
“Vote for the man who promises least; he’ll be the least disappointing.” -Bernard Baruch
“In order to become the master, the politician poses as the servant.” -Charles de Gaulle
“If a politician found he had cannibals among his constituents, he would promise them missionaries for dinner.” -H. L. Mencken
“We’d all like to vote for the best man but he’s never a candidate.” -Kin Hubbard
“We may not imagine how our lives could be more frustrating and complex-but Congress can.” -Cullen Hightower
EDITORIAL EXEGESIS
“The Presidential winner in November will probably appoint no fewer than two Supreme Court Justices. The likeliest vacancies, from an actuarial perspective, will come from the liberal wing of the Court. So a President Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton has the potential to set back the prolife agenda by 30 years. It could well be a generation before a President would have another opportunity to shift the balance on the Court to the right. [John] McCain’s harshest critics argue that his judicial picks could easily be as bad as anyone tapped by Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama. This is caricature, but even if it had merit, [they] would be trading the risk that Mr. McCain picks moderates for the court for the certainty that his opponent would appoint liberals. It’s always possible Mr. McCain would make a bad Supreme Court nomination, just as Ronald Reagan picked Anthony Kennedy, who later affirmed Roe v. Wade… The conservative coalition has learned a lot about picking judges since 1987, and especially since the nomination of David Souter by another Republican President. As the Harriet Myers interlude proved, another mystery pick by Mr. McCain or any other GOP President is far less likely than it used to be…[S]ocial conservatives may decide they can’t vote for Mr. McCain for any number of reasons. What they can’t do with any credibility is claim that helping to elect a liberal President will further the causes that these conservatives claim to believe most deeply in.” –The Wall Street Journal
UPRIGHT
“There are seven reasons for anyone to support the eventual nominee no matter who it is: The war and six Supreme Court justices over the age of 68.” -Hugh Hewitt
“Kamikaze Republicans-those who say they’ll never vote for John McCain because he isn’t conservative enough-may get what they deserve. The Clintons… It isn’t necessary to love everything McCain has done to vote for him should he be the nominee. But it isn’t possible to argue that there’s no difference between McCain and Clinton (or Barack Obama), as some Republicans insist.” -Kathleen Parker
“A wise aphorism has it that the perfect is the enemy of the good. While conservatives tilt their noses expressively in the air at the idea of John McCain’s representing a movement he votes with 85 percent of the time, Democrats offer the electorate two strong believers in the power of big government, two babes in the woods when it comes to foreign policy, two fast friends of every liberal interest from pro-choice to gay rights to let’s-kill-the-Bush-tax-cuts.” -William Murchison
“We are a movement that believes in personal responsibility, so it’s time to take some. There are consequences to losing. Now is the time to rebuild and re-group, not whine or complain or sulk. Reagan lost many political battles along the way but never lost hope in the enduring nature of basic conservative principles. Neither should we.” -Laura Ingraham
“Conservative principles are timeless, and will outlast any politician.” -Alfred Regnery
“God still governs. The times and providence called forth the right man to lead America for such a time as this.” -Rep. Mike Pence

If you vote Republican in November here is what you can count on in the years 2009 – 2012:
1. Funding and presence in Iraq with INCREASE and more young, poor Americans will die in vain.
2. A war may be started with another country (North Korea, Iran, etc.)
3. Funding for education and science will be greatly cut.
4. Funding for the military will be increased thereby pushing the national debt over 10 trillion.
5. The economy will continue to spiral downward and perhaps we will enter a full-blown depression.
6. The environment and nature will again take a backseat and more drilling for oil on American soil will take place, most likely on lands protected for wildlife.
7. And last but not least a vote for Republican in November will guarantee financial hardship for our children.

You have hit the bulls-eye on the importance of this election.
Hi: I’d like to invite you to visit and establish a link to: http://pennsylvaniaforjohnmccain.blogspot.com. I’ll be putting up a link to your site this week. Pennsylvaniaforjohnmccain is part of a national, independent movement to help build a coaltion of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats for McCain.
Every state currently has a formccain site (even Hawaiiforjohnmccain and Alaskaforjohnmccain). All of them will be up-and-running within a few weeks.
The site will be happy to receive and disseminate information regarding any pro-McCain activities in the state. Thanks very much for your interest.

I have a question for Conservatives who claim that there is something honorable about not voting for McCain. Who spend more of their time beating down a fellow Republican, while ignoring the extreme liberal forces that are about to kick their butts completely out of every branch of government.
McCain was the worst choice for Replublicans, but they are about to make a bad choice into an insane result.
This is not just about who will be President for 4 years. It’s about preventing a complete washout of all conservative influence.. How is having only 50% of McCain’s ear worse than having zip out of a liberal dictatorship who thinks all conservative thought is archaic?
What is honorable about sitting on your butt at home, refusing to vote – allowing all branches of government to be swarmed by RABIDLY liberal opponents who have vowed to undo everything conservatives have fought to achieve over the past decade?
I hear endless whining and griping from Conservatives – while the extreme liberals, who are bent on reversing every conservative principal – out number us at the polls nearly two to one. Is that principal or do conservatives just have a death wish to see our country turn to the extreme left (who has no problem getting their hind ends to the polls)..
What is so conservative about beating down the (soon to be) nominee who supports our troops, instead of the extreme liberals who insult our troops and degrade them every single day in front of the entire world?
By punishing John McCain for not being conservative enough – you are really punishing all conservatives by making absolutely sure they will be governed by radical, rabid liberalism for the next 4 to 8 years.
By stomping your feet and refusing to help, you in turn assure that the laws of the land will have few conservatives in a position of power to stop a runaway liberal train that will further infiltrate our school, explode your tax burden and socialize every part of your life it can.
If you must be dragged to the polls, then don’t bother complaining when our courts are swarmed by the liberals who will put judges in power.
Please think twice before punishing the rest of us conservatives, who may not love McCain, but are smart enough to realize the living nightmare that will ensue, if things continue on the path they are going.
I see nothing conservative about being so focused on the anthill, you completely ignore the volcano that’s about to wipe your entire cause out. That is not principal. That’s political suicide. Will conservatives ever learn?.

Maybe it is time that we stop “allowing” this corrupt Republican party to get away with whatever they want. Don’t get me wrong, I am a registered Republican but I am a Conservative first. Maybe we need a shake up in the power structure. Let’s show these politicians that just because they put that “R” next to their name, that they automatically get our votes.
If we lose the oval office for 4 years, so be it. Let’s shift focus to the house and senate. Maybe by the next election cycle, assuming we boycott this one, we will end up with a Republican that makes Ronald Reagan(God rest his soul) look like Nancy Pelosi.
