This Image + Table can be copied as is and a NEW Image plus TEXT can be substituted.

HINTS:

1. Copy the entire Table and Image and paste to your article. (This can be into the PAP
Write Post area or your Blog Writer or Word Processor,* if it can handle it.)

2. Paste your image on top of current Sample Image. The Sample Image will move downward. Then just Highlight the Sample Image and hit delete. Your Image should retain the 5 px (pixel) Spacing both Left and Right + Top and Bottom. If not click on the Image and go to the Appearance Tab (in Kompozer) and enter the Spacing values of 5. No more no less! Leave Solid Border at 0. Click OK.
In the WordPress “Write Post“, Click on Image once then go to the first row “Green TreeIcon (Insert/edit image). In the Pop-Up window enter 5 for both the Vertical space and Horizontal space.

3. Highlight current text and delete.

4. Copy and paste your text into
that space.

5. Highlight your text and click on the Align Text Icon to align text Left or Center.

The following is for those not afraid of HTML or XHTML.

This is the HTML of the above Table, Image & Text.

<table align=”left” border=”0″ cellpadding=”0″
cellspacing=”0″ width=”10“>

Words in Blue or Purple are not to be changed for the WordPress Blog.

The items in RED does change.

1. align= Refers to the position of the TABLE either LEFT or RIGHT.
(This will allow the article to wrap opposite of the Table. If table is Left the text will be Right.)

2.  <a href= Refers to the IMAGE that  you uploaded to WordPress.

3. <img class= Refers to “tool tip” in Kompozer

Image items – <img
Tool tip** – (title=)
Alternate Text - (alt=) This shows up before the image is loaded. This is helpful for those with a slow connection, usually not noticed with a high speed connection. Also many with a slow connection will not load images to speed up downloading. They can read the text and decide whether to click on the image icon to load the image or not.

** Called this in Kompozer Blog/Web Writer

* I recommend Kompozer (or 2nd Choice: NVu). Both available for Linux, Mac or Microsoft “Windows” OS (Operating Systems)

ELF (Sniper One) recommends & uses LiveWriter (Free) for MS “Windows”. [I have no personal experience with it, so I can't compare it to Kompozer.]
However both are designed to be used for Blogs.
(Kompozer for Blogs and Websites, depending on which icons used for Bold & Italics.)

MS Word, WordPerfect, Lotus Notes, OpenOffice Writer are word processors and are primarily designed for PRINTING not for Blog Writing. All the Product Specific Coding must be stripped out to make it usable for Blogs. Just the same as WordPerfect can’t be copied perfectly into MS Word, etc., because the coding is different, same-same with Blogs.

The other option is to use a very simple, plain Jane, Text Writer using simple text (ascii or UTF-8). I use gEdit but others are available. They are also good for stripping away unwanted Coding. These do not allow for Bold (Strong Emphasis) or Italics (Emphasis). [BoldItalics is used for websites, web auctions, etc., using HTML or XHTML.  Strong Emphasis & Emphasis is used for Blogs using XHTML]

My experience with MS Windows OS and Word Processors ended a few years ago when I switched to Linux for all my Business (mostly Government dealings) and Personal needs.

WordPerfect: Last time I used was a DOS version of 5.1 (the best.) Though I did try a MS Windows version. I believe that was also 5.1, but the DOS version was much better.

Lotus: Loved it, It did everything I wanted easily. I forget version but it was two or so years before I gave up on MS. I used it with MS Win XP.

MS Word and Word Pad both in MS Win 3.11 which I streamlined and improved on speed and stability by removing 3 programs and “surgically” removing sixty some embedded  ”pieces” of each program. I even used these word processors in the inept MS Win 95 & 98 OSs. That was only a couple of months & I switched to MS XP. Much better. Though Win 2000 was better in some ways.

And MS “Windows” 3.11 (Surgically  neutered altered) was the best.

I was using Windows with DOS, back in the early 1980’s. I quickly switched to it. It was the Windows that came with the Norton Utilities and Norton Commander. I used a mouse to click on items instead of typing instructions.

My 1st PC was a XT. I soon switched to the Rolls Royce of computers – The Compaq XT Pro, with a nice Amber Monochrome Monitor! Much easier on the eyes than the Black & White ones that were currently in use. I had a huge 10 MB (or was it 20?) Hard Drive! I had all my Warehouse Inventory on it, with a Word Processor full of Letters, Flyers and Catalogs, Invoices; a Data Base with all my Customers details and Personal stuff. And more. I forget what all.It was 1/4 or 1/3 full.

Then I was offered an even larger Hard drive, the largest available. I didn’t need it but wanted to be the first on the Block with a new upgrade! It was either a 20 MB or 40 MB HD. It was twice as large. The salesman agreed I really didn’t need it but it had enough capacity to last me a lifetime! So I bought it.     :-)

Back to Blogs:
To save hassles I recommend using a Blog Writer for all Blogs.

ELF uses MS Windows LiveWriter (Free) and recommends it.

I am using Kompozer with Linux, which is an offshoot of NVu. Both are True WYSIWYG Web and Blog Writers (Free!). Both have MS Windows, MAC & Linux versions.

I save many hours by getting the article, images & text links just the way I want it,
then copying the whole thing over to the “Write – Post” area.

The only thing that needs to be done there is have the Images open in a different window by Clicking on the “Insert/edit link” Icon, in the top row of Icons under “Post“. A pop-up window will open & next to “Target” I click on the drop down menu labeled – - Not set – - and select “Open link in a new window”.

Of course Prior to this I use the “Add Media” row of Icons (to the right from “Post“)  – I click on “Add an Image” Icon for Images, “Add Video”, etc., to get my Image into the WordPress files.
