Friends:

Some recent energy articles of interest —

Firstly, this important video, “If I Wanted America to Fail” is well worth seeing.

I’m gladly passing on the following important message:

In the Federal Register (4/13/12), the USFWS proposes to extend bald eagle “take permits” from 5 years to 30 years. American Bird Conservancy is speaking out against this proposed rule to satisfy the wind industry.  Please take a moment to read the two links below, and then comment on this issue before our national bird is no longer free to fly over the US.

Expanding the time where our national bird  is allowed to be killed from 5 to 30 years, is beyond offensive, and will result in the slaughter of numerous bald and golden eagles. And for what? The profits of mostly foreign corporations. Please forward this to like minded individuals.

I have added an easy language translator to WindPowerFacts.Info. Some formatting appears to be lost, but in general it works well. Try it out!

It was just announced that the excellent Windfall movie will be available for rent on Netflix in May! This is well worth seeing, and should be passed on to everyone on your contact list.

More reports about greed energy economics:

A very good study about RES’s (done by a large independent consulting organization) concludes that Ontario’s RES will be hugely expensive   http://tinyurl.com/7x2a2pc — and should be cancelled.

A US Senate subcommittee hearing was held April 19th that discussed the impact of tax policies on renewables. The written testimony of the presenters is listed (scroll down), and several are good. If you can only read one, I would recommend Dr. Zycher’s — which does a great job of undermining the lobbyist’s claims for more subsidies.
