Biden On Economy: We Forgot To Carry The Two.

Vice President Joe Biden admitted today that in his economic stimulus calculations with the President, he forgot to carry the two.

“That was my bad,” said Biden, “I thought we were going to end up about $20 billion in debt. It turns out that it’s more like $20 trillion. Oops. That’s a real boner I pulled there, ain’t it?”

The Vice President still stood behind the Obama administration’s economic stimulus package in spite of his revelation from this morning.

“Billion, trillion, shmillion,” said Biden, “The important thing is that we’re finally getting all the stuff we wanted. Barack is getting his socialist health care and high gas prices, and I’m getting a leather massage chair.”

Biden indicated that he does plan to correct his math.

“Yeah, I’ll go back and fix it,” said Biden, “It’s not like it’s a pressing issue or anything. It’s just a little math. I’ll get to it after I finish making quesadillas and doing a conference call with the President of Honduras. Something about a coupe. I’m a sedan guy myself, but I’ll talk to him anyway. I think he’s just lonely.”

President Obama stood with his Vice President and vouched for the effectiveness of his calculations.

“Joe forgot to carry a two,” said Obama, “Get over it. It’s a simple mistake. It’s not as math-challenged as Tim Geithner, so I trust him. I even trusted him enough to put him on this Honduras coup thing. Has he taken care of that yet? I’ll bet it’s already smoothed over. Joe’s a real smarty.”

The President also said that our 9.5 percent unemployment rate was much too high, but it could be worse.

“Yes, 9.5 percent is a high rate of unemployment,” said Obama, “But look at Namibia. They’re somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 percent. We’re doing a lot better than them. In your face, Namibia.”

Obama’s supporters in congress welcomed the President’s approach.

“President Obama is absolutely right,” said Senator majority leader Harry Reid, “In your face Namibia. Y’all can suck it.”
