Today we mark the anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence.
Fifty-six men signed what what is beyond a doubt one of the greatest political documents ever written.
What price did they ultimately pay for this heroic action?
During the Revolutionary War, some were captured by the British Army and held as prisoners of war, many had their homes vandalized and looted, and in some cases destroyed, one had his wife held as a captive of the British for months, many were left destitute at the end of the war, and one suffered the loss of a son killed in battle.
