A report from DHS, which was exposed by the Washington Times, indicates that conservative and libertarian activists are in trouble. This report could not have come out at a better time. One day before hundreds of Tea Parties are to take place, conservative and libertarian activists have been labeled as a threat by the Department of Homeland Security.
As the report notes, anyone who is “dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration”, may be a threat to security. Obama has not taken a strong stance against the report however. From a statement from the White House, “The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins.” Essentially, Obama is targeting conservative and libertarian activists.
The nine page report against the first amendment goes on to say that Homeland Security will be gathering intelligence on activist groups over the coming months–a deeply disturbing move. Homeland Security has warned that there are more reports to come.
Mark Tapscott at the Washington Examiner had this to say about the report:
“To insure the peace and tranquility of his majesty’s realm, his law enforcement officials have been directed to observe and collect information regarding all individuals expressing views consistent with those described above in print, on the Internet or in conversation with loyal citizens. In addition, arrest warrants have been issued for the following 56 individual terrorists. Any loyal citizen with information regarding the whereabouts of these terrorists is directed to report immediately to the nearest law enforcement representative of the King:
Thomas Jefferson, *John Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, George Read, Caesar Rodney, Thomas McKean, George Clymer, John Morton, Benjamin Rush, James Smith, George Ross, James Wilson, George Taylor, Elbridge Gerry, Robert Treat Paine, Josiah Bartlett, William Whipple, Matthew Thornton, Stephen Hopkins, William Ellery, Lewis Morris, Philip Livingston, Francis Lewis, William Floyd, Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall, George Walton, Richard Henry Lee, Francis Lightfoot Lee, Carter Braxton, Benjamin Harrison, George Wythe, Thomas Nelson, Jr., William Hooper, John Penn, Joseph Hewes, Edward Rutledge, Arthur Middleton, Thomas Lynch, Jr., Thomas Heyward, Jr., Abraham Clark, John Hart, Francis Hopkinson, Richard Stockton, John Wilkerson, Samuel Huntington, Roger Sherman, William Williams, Oliver Wolcott, Charles Carroll, Samuel Chase, Thomas Stone, William Paca.
* “But a constitution of government once changed from freedom can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever.”
It is more important now than ever before for Americans to stand up and say no more. If you are attending a Tea Party tomorrow, provided that you are not detained for doing so, be sure to stand up against this new tyranny.
