Somali Pirates Vow Revenge

Captain Richard Phillips, the hostage held by pirates following the failed attempt to capture the cargo ship Maersk Alabama, was rescued this morning by the U.S. Navy.

This is one media release of the rescue from the Australian media outlet ABC News.

During the rescue attempt, he was uninjured, but three of the pirates were shot dead and a fourth captured. Commander Frank Castellano on board the USS Bainbridge said the decision was made to go in for the rescue because he feared the hostage Captain was in imminent danger.

It is rumoured that the Navy SEAL’s were instrumental in the effective operation of the rescue.

The Somali pirates have vowed revenge, saying that the U.S. will regret what they have done here.
