The Congressional Pig Book is an annual report on pork-barrel spending in the federal budget. The 2008 Pig Book features a complete database of pork projects and profiles the most egregious examples from the Appropriations Acts. In fiscal 2008, pork-barrel spending ballooned to 11,610 projects costing $17.2 billion. Speakers will discuss the current state of earmark reform and what more needs to be done to stop Congress from returning to its piggish ways.

Once again the Democrats have NOT kept their word. They ran on anti Pork and High Ethics…Just like MIT who has Noam Chomsky who Hates America but gets “Pork” from the Military (another Chomsky hated entity) and is a very wealthy Man.
and Robert Byrd..a fine example of a Porker on a heavy diet! His home state has more “Memorials” to him then American flags. Shame on all phony pols…Hillary gets Woodstock Museum funds.. apparently his home state is unable to create Private Industry thus they need MY TAXES..to build Government supported entities!
Ted Kennedy..my Senator.. Hornswoggled the entire country on the Big Dig…sadly for me it was such an embarrassment under the Democrats that they dared not get more dough from the rest of the country and instead just dropped it on the shoulders of the Few tax payers in Mass.
Although I am not a McCain supporter..tho I will vote for him..HE CAN HOLD HIS HEAD HIGH FOR HIS LACK OF PORK …HE KEPT HIS WORD..MORE THAN HILLARY OR OBAMA CANS SAY. OF COURSE WE ALSO SEE OBAMA GIVING TO HIS WIFE’S EMPLOYER AND GETTING HER A NICE TRIPLE RAISE!
I ALSO SEE FIRST HAND THE WASTED MONEY IN SO CALLED GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS .. THERE ARE MANY PRIVATE COMPANIES AND CHARITIES THAT …WERE CITIZENS NO SO OVER TAXED AND GOVERNMENT SUCH A SLOPPY AGENCY WE COULD GIVE MORE TO HELP THOSE IN NEED DIRECTLY. INSTEAD THEY TAKE OUR BUCKS AND GIVE A FEW CENTS TO THE “PET CAUSE” AND THE REST GOES TO GOVERNMENT HACKS!
A PRIVATE COMPANY CAN EASIER GIVE DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO THOSE IN NEED AT MUCH LESS EXPENSE.
we should all realize that Government is so big they can never run a program or project properly…when they finish hiring all their hacks they all have no money left to do their jobs…we are running out of patience with these PROGRAMS..MANY IN PLACE FOR 50 YEARS THAT HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT A MISERABLE FAILURE..THE WAR ON POVERTY IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A WAR THAT HAS DOOMED A SEGMENT OF THE POPULATION INTO ABSOLUTE FAILURE.
I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN LEAVING THOSE BUCKS IN THE PEOPLE’S POCKETS AND YOU CAN BE ASSURED THAT AMERICANS ARE INDEED CREATIVE AND ABLE TO DO WONDERS…ONCE GOVERNMENT STEPS IN ..ALL IS WASTED AND IT BECOMES A MAKE WORK AGENCY….YOU KNOW THE OLD UNION ADAGE..”JOB SECURITY”…RATHER THAN SOLVE A PROBLEM OR BUILD A SOLID BUILDING LEAVE ENOUGH UNDONE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A JOB FOR LIFE!
PEOPLE DO NOT SEEM TO REALIZE THAT WHETHER IT COMES FROM WASHINGTON OR YOUR STATE GOVERNMENTS ALL THE WASTED MONEY IS ACTUALLY YOUR MONEY!
