Who Do You Trust?

Political Derby poses the question: “What endorsement would make you change your vote?”

Dempublican Joe Lieberman’s endorsement of John McCain was based on national security worries, he said, citing the “Islamist terrorists” who attacked us “on 9/11.”

Did Lieberman make his “9/11” reference to separate McCain from the self-proclaimed Knight of 9/11, Rudy Giuliani, who has about the same numbers in NH?

Does an endorsement really matter to you? Is it a two-edged sword, cutting up or down? Or is it a matter of who does the endorsing? Let’s play: What person’s endorsement would make you change your vote?

He/She must be alive and American. Is it Leno? Bill O’? Springer?

I can’t think of a single living person whose endorsement would effect me positively. For example, my father is a Huckabee fan, but I am very much cooling on the Huckster due to his “religion on his sleeve”, his constant backhanded Mormon bashing, and his stance on immigration. While my father may be able to dismiss some of these, I can’t. I’ll be hoping that Santa brings me a Thompson nomination for Christmas.

While on the other hand, I can think of more people than I can list that would cause me to double think my support of a candidate. Anyone from Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Peace-Mother Sheehan, to Hugo Chavez.

For example, if Michael “The King of Flop” Jackson came out and said that he supported Ron Paul for President, I would have to double think the already low esteem I hold Ron Paul in. In honestly, Paul would go from unelectable to contemptible just by Michael opening his mouth.
