Jose Medellin, George Bush, The North American Union & Vienna

JMedellin The question really is; Is the United States a sovereign nation, or have we given up our independence to international organizations. Is the Supreme the highest court in the land, or is it trumped by any International Organization.

(The National Ledger) Jose Medellin’s guilt was never in doubt. He confessed in detail to participating in the crime and was sentenced to death. In June 1993, 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena and 15-year-old Jennifer Ertman took a shortcut home. They were brutally raped and murdered as a part of a gang initiation.  Now his case is with the Supreme Court.

Why is it Bush vs. Texas? The administration’s position is that the president’s declaration that the ruling should be enforced is reason enough for Texas to grant Medellin a new hearing. “Obviously, we feel the president’s determination here is a critical element,” U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement said. But Justice Antonin Scalia reacted skeptically to that idea. “You’re telling us we don’t need Congress. The president can make it domestic law” on his own, Scalia said.

Texas courts have said the international court ruling has no weight in Texas and that Bush has no power to order its enforcement.

As Bryan over at Hot Air said:

That’s too much power for any president to have, and in this case it’s being misused to stay the execution of a brutal criminal who shouldn’t even be in the US at all. The president ought to lose this case, and he ought to be asked why he has intervened on behalf of a child killer.

Why should we, as Americans, bow down and allow our laws to be superceded by International law? Why should be allow our Constitution to be set aside just because some group of nuts from all over the EU think that we should.

I do not recognize the International Court’s authority, and I refuse to subject myself to any authority other than the one(s) I elected.

George_Bush_Biography At times like this, it’s getting harder and harder to dismiss the North American Union theories that have been floating around for the last year. However, actually giving the NAU idea the time of day makes me feel like I should be wrapped up in a straight jacket right next to Ron “On 9-11 we had it coming” Paul.

(Spartan Daily) The United States, Canada and Mexico will, at some point in time, become one borderless nation: deemed the “North American Union.”

But the wolf is the devil of bad consciousness sitting on President Bush’s shoulder, whispering in his ear the plans for the demise of our individuality, freedoms and human rights.

The end of what we know as the United States of America is near. Or so the conspiracy theory goes.

Schemed and agreed on by Canada’s Prime Minister Paul Martin, former President Vicente Fox of Mexico and Bush, and announced on March 23, 2005, the Security and Prosperity Partnership was agreed upon by these nation’s leaders.

I’m still skeptical, but lets face it… nothing is being done about our immigration problems, and Congress is still trying to pass an Amnesty package via the dream act.

If I had known in 2004, what I know now in 2007, I would not of voted for George W. Bush. I still would not of voted for any other non-Republican candidate. However what Bush has been doing the last several years has been nothing but a betrayal to his base.

I still back the war on terror, but I do not approve of his actions domestically. It’s a good thing that Bush can’t run again, because there is no way in hell I would vote for him again.
